Christians have often been accused of having a blind faith, a leap of faith...etc.
Have you ever heard that Atheism could be actually a Leap of Faith?
Unbelievable? Unthinkable?
Do you think all the Gospel stories about Jesus in 4 Gospels ( Gospels according to Mattew, Mark, Luke and John ) are all fabricated by Jesus' disciples and His followers? Then think again, why they fabricated so many embarrassing and unflattering details about themselves?...etc.

Dear BH: I think the definition for Theism is the doctrine that put faith above honesty. It is your right to choose that, but it is wrong to impose the concept onto others. SS.
ReplyDeleteDear SS: Thank you for your comment. Your definition of Theism--the doctrine that has put faith above honesty, has already reflected atheists' built in "leap of faith"-- that "God doesn't exist", do you realize that?
Because if you want to claim there is no God, you have to be able to search every corner of the whole universe including the realms beyond current science allows humans to reach out in our physical world, let alone unreachable spiritual realm that many smart scientists like you have totally denied. Then humans only live the most around 100 yrs, how can any one human being in his/her life span can have a thorough search for God of eternity? Atheists do need to prove beyond the reason of doubts that God really doesn't exist or else Atheists are just making the same leaps of faith as they accuse the theists are doing.
Furthermore, don't atheists need a lot of leaps of faith and faith above honesty? To simplify our arguments, nobody has ever seen the evolution of fish becoming birds, yet putting millions, billions of years, a great leap of faith indeed, then Atheists believe the theory of Evolution as facts and it is presented to our children in schools as facts of science, Right?
(Since the species would die out cross breeding, Macro-evolution is physically impossible. It cannot happen; it has never happened. It is up to evolutionists, the ones making the claim, to prove otherwise, agree?)
Now you mention it, I think if the leap of faith only based on imaginations or some wrong assumptions, biases...etc. then it could become blind faith and the leap of faith could lead one into darkness and dishonesty--自欺欺人.
However, if the leap of faith is based on solid foundation and evidence, making a reasonable leap of faith into lightness.(not to jump into darkness) Here below is Paul's calling from Jesus who appeared to Paul and sent him to the Gentiles to bring them into God's kingdom, into God's wonderful light.(開他們心靈的眼睛, 使他們從黑暗進入光明.) In another word, if I experienced a leap of faith that leads me into darkness, then I would myself discard this kind of faith. ( Trust me, I won't make any leap of faith, if I haven't checked out things and evidence as much as I can.)
On the other hand, if I examine the evidence as much as I can, then make a faith leap into God's lightness, thus, I have truly experienced our loving Creator God as my Heavenly Father, so I am full of enthusiasm to tell friends, and those who cross my path what a wonderful resurrected Savior Jesus I have found.
My faith never forces me into dishonesty as you think, because God's truth can't tolerate any untruth and dishonesty. Do you realize that? May God's truth shine! BH
